WHO ARE THE SOMALI ISLAMISTS AND HOW DID THEY EMERGE?

The Islamists in Mogadishu’s psyche do not consider themselves as part of worldwide jihads nor are considered one; rather they visualize themselves as a "Somalia solution to a Somalia problem". But, because of the accusations coming from outside and Ethiopian meddling is what making them notable grandeur entities gaining friends from outside, whereas making easier for them to recruit a new young fresh fighters thirsty for adventure, motivated nationalists "fueled by the new Islam" pacified the country they have seen only without law and order.

Again, the appalling poverty of the overwhelming majority of the Somali parents aware the Ethiopian and Darood notorious agendas, and encouraging them their sons to join the fight. As they see the picture as the enemy of Islam is on their soil, propagandas the Islamists using repeatedly. It became a piece of cake to gain popularity by blending Ethiopia with the most unpopular people in the Somalia, the Majertens as well as their leader the most hated person in Somalia Warlord President Abdullah Yusuf and his adherence to Clan connections mind-set leads him uselessly arrogant through ignorance people for Centuries..

President Abdullah Yusuf is in fact from a minority group with lots of propaganda they used to master it by making themselves a mountain out of small hill. Controlled the country for several years, but today it is no longer working and won’t be able to convince the Somalis, as they can’t stand for an hour fight against the Hawiye or Islamists, Somaliland, Digil-fighters or any other group that decides to chaff them around as failures. And their unconditional surrender to Ethiopia confirms the veracity of the situation.

While the growing popular support for the Islamists shot up, variety of reasons what’s pushing ahead. As Somalis know one another and one can easily broadcast all kinds of news, will listen but won’t buy other than what they believe, and they believe that: -

1. Habargidir are the Islamists, and the Islamists are Habargidirs and they are preferable over the Abdullah Yusuf’s warlord government makeup that is seen as corrupt, land expansionist eying Jubbaland for his people Darood, it is also “a known fact” that the Darood clan was the first ones who wear the Islamic shirt years before UIC proclaiming Islamic shari'a which is really a dress to mislead the Muslim countries.

• Their well publicized bringing about a first semblance of stability in the country after more than 15 years is another misleading notion as they've taken away the peace in the first place, as USC group changed its name into UIC. [USC=UIC=Al Barakat], and may come up other initial name for years to come with another business name front.

2. The Habargidirs are already deep-rooted themselves for 16 years in those areas of  Mogadishu and all the southern parts of Somalia, also control media outlets of that area as well as BBC Somali branch, sounds like they’ve leased from the British since Arta_days through one of their own.

3. Somalis are fed up with the breakdown of law and order and corruption the Daroods liable for the past 50 years and consequently inherited by their fellow Hawiye from the Central Regions of Somalia since both Clans are nothing but freeloaders and tax consumers rely on other peoples produce.

4. One of the two rivaling neighboring clans contending over the power control, the Hawiyes eliminated among themselves and made Habargidir the emerged sole contender for the power, and have proven being more sociable, sensible, less hostile than the known revolting Daroods who self-centered people and created this situation in the first place as well as the defeated other Hawiye sub-clans (the Prime-Ministers), who have the most warlords that menaced the Capital.

5. The simmering tensions that used to lie below the surface in Central Somalia among the rivaling sub-clans of Hawiye and Darood is coming out here in the new final battle ground in southern Somalia, and the former must prevail over the latter to end the relentless Daroods showing as having the sole rights to rule over the others, which at the end of the day none of them will win but surely will return back to their Regions with severe losses, unless Ethiopians tip up the balance.

6. The temporarily prevailing party will finally face and fight against the growing discontented Major deprived of Maay-Population with the so-called in the final clash, and for the benefit of all the latter must win for a lasting peaceful solution in the horn of Africa and the International community will appreciate.

7. The Daroods are hosting the Ethiopian Christian, the sworn enemy for life and the unthinkable ally of Somalia is just worsening the situation and will continue to do so until the Tigre Regime in Ethiopia even may fortuitously collapse with the growing discontented Muslim population in their own country.

8. It is a letdown, a lack of knowledge and miscalculated situation to support the Daroods and few Minister Warlords in Baidoa, they are seen as the ones devastated Somalia, and their plans failure is widely needed and believed can deliver only by the Islamists to come out for the finalists. Only the slaughtered beast knows the agony of the knife! And believe me as Somali Maay-person, there must come an alternative force that will defeat both Hawiye and Darood.

 Somalis are known being a Democratic people by nature, and always lived in fantasy world and freedom of expression that do not even exist in the west. But if the International community is genuine to bring peace and lasting security with a workable democratic system or Mubarak type of Democracy in this part of the world, then Ethiopia and Abdullah Yusuf is very bad idea to be around with. They are lacking the intellect to lead and control over Somalia, and both are way behind their time because of their intrigues and dishonesty towards their own population for the sake of their existence.

 If with all the finance in the world be put available for them, will still be lacking the real popular support for a leadership in the country. Sure they can create a new kind of unknown crises that develops to a new situation of weak authority that will bring warlords back into picture, new type of strong Islamists even all the way to Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania. A breakdown of law and order once again in wider area, and a creation of rampant retaliation psyche towards the west, that will be blamed for going back to violence in the country by backing the wrong parties.

 The record shows clearly that shambles in this country, the generation of children both traumatized and deprived of education were Maay Population children, and for a half a century may be less than 1% got the scholarship education provided by the International community when they cover over 60% of the Population in Somalia, while 99% is been taken by Hawiye and Darood. It is true that desperate measures one leads to a desperate action, and today they all know how to point and shoot, even though their motivation varies, the Maay Populations enthusiasm to free themselves is unmatchable.

 For over a ½ Century those disadvantaged people struggling for their rightful place in their own country is solid and determined, Peasants want to defend their lands and families, mothers widowed with orphaned children seeking just little fairness. A place where justice is betrayed by the International community for helping two vicious groups spread terror with extreme of its fear will not likely make them cooperate with aggression gotten beyond a bearable point, even if International community with all Ethiopian army comes to set a ½ alive, ½, dead-man walking again in Baidoa.

 Change of direction, policy is what’s needed here. It is not been decisive in the past from the International community toward creating a stable or peaceful environment for the Maay Population, and that cannot happen unless All parties are treated equally by each other and the outsiders show a meaningful mediation that can create cooperation and may be the impasse will fade away as equality takes its effect. In the meantime Hawiye as well as Darood’s aggression can only be contained with a decisive defeat, a language they will be very grateful to accept it because of their uniqueness violent nature.
